• Engage with clients to plan, shape, and implement ILS/IPS strategies across acquisition and in-service phases 

• Produce and maintain IPS artefacts including Supportability Cases, LSAR-derived outputs, maintenance concepts, analysis of support requirements, and availability, reliability and maintainability assessments 

• Perform detailed supportability modelling: spares forecasting, maintenance planning, failure trend analysis, and support cost modelling 

• Support verification and validation activities for ILS deliverables against MoD and contractual requirements 

• Provide clear reporting on supportability risks, issues, and recommended actions 

• Contribute to the growth of the Whitetree Supportability and Technical Services capability through development of methods, knowledge assets, thought leadership and mentoring of colleagues 

• Lead customer workshops and stakeholder engagements to define Support Solutions and resolve supportability challenges 

• Present recommendations and analytical findings to customer and leadership teams 

•  Support the development of bids, proposals and business growth activities where appropriate 

• Embedded into a client project, delivering high-quality ILS artefacts and analysis with positive stakeholder feedback

• Demonstrable experience delivering Supportability Engineering, ILS or IPS activities within complex engineering programmes. 

• Knowledge of MoD ILS processes (Def-Stan 00-600) and/or Industry IPS processes (ASD S-Series). 

• Experience gained within the Defence Industry; UK MoD background would be desirable. 

• Understanding of obsolescence management principles and relevant standards, including IEC 62402. 

• Experience producing ILS/IPS deliverables such as ISP, Supportability Case Reports (SCRs), Maintenance Plans, Technical Documentation, and Spares Recommendations 

• Working knowledge of SA techniques such as FMECA, RCM, LORA, MTA. 

• Ability to analyse complex engineering information and develop practical through-life support solutions. 

• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, suppliers and multi-disciplinary teams. 

• Engineering degree, equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience desirable.

As part of the Support Engineering Capability, you will support our clients in the identification and implementation of improved Asset Management Methodologies to extract value for their own business, whilst demonstrating our output-based successes. The day-to-day role will include: 

• Identifying, guiding, and supporting Strategic Asset Management processes within client programmes. 

• Successfully identifying and delivering value, task alignment and assurance against agreed project deliverables. 

• Identifying, assessing, and managing technical risk and opportunities. 

• Customer and stakeholder relationship management and development. 

• Managing and controlling the Asset Management System design and development process. 

• Preparing and presenting technical reports and presentations.  

• Collaborating across wider Whitetree teams, service lines and client projects.

Key Requirements 

• Previous experience managing or supporting design and development of facilities and infrastructure within a defence environment. 

• Knowledge and interest in asset management practices, theory and ISO 55000 series. 

• Experience of working with asset data systems.  

• Experience of implementing or constructing design solutions and evaluating effectiveness.  

• Background in managing engineering activities that contribute to sustainable development.  

• Excellent communicator able to convey new concepts effectively verbally and in writing.
